Common Core and the Zoo

In this workshop for upper elementary teachers, we will explore the connections between the common core reading and writing standards and the wildlife at the Bronx Zoo. Through literacy activities, hands-on engagement, exhibit visits, peer reflection, and curriculum planning time, participants will be able to integrate their knowledge of ecosystems and energy transfer in food chains to enrich their students’ understanding of life science. Additionally, participating teachers will be supported as they design a learning experience to help their students make observations of the natural world.

34 seats available.
Price:   $50.00
