Junior Conservationists Working to Save Urban Wildlife

Come join us at the Queens Zoo to explore urban ecology and how you and your students can become more involved in saving local wildlife! With an increasing human population, understanding and navigating the relationship between people and nature is more important than ever before. During the workshop, participants will learn about the concerns for urban ecosystems and wildlife and engage in fun activities that demonstrate ways to teach about conservation and environmental stewardship. Participants will also have the opportunity to create a learning experience for their students that makes connections to the curriculum and science standards while addressing these real-world concerns – thus empowering students to take action and join WCS’s mission of saving wildlife and wild places.
