How can we empower students to affirmatively address future climate challenges? How do we address challenging topics like climate change with students? Students are best able to learn about climate change and human impact when the problem is presented as “solvable”. Join us at the Bronx Zoo to explore how teachers can use engineering design projects to introduce human impact science content. We will model engineering projects and discuss designing and facilitating projects in the classroom. Participants will also have the opportunity to plan a learning experience to take back to their classroom, making connections between real world problems and the New York State Science Learning Standards.
